A cheek lift restores fullness to the cheekbones that gets lost due to aging and sagging of the skin of your face.
This mid-face lift which is often combined with other face esthetic procedures (neck lift, temporal lift, blepharoplasty, face lipofilling…) provides a rejuvenated and refreshed appearance.
This information sheet is issued by Dr Vincent Nguyen board-certified plastic surgeon in Paris, familiar with mid-face lifts.
It provides all the information about the surgery, scars, recovery, before and after comparison photographs and the costs of a cheek lift.
What is a cheek lift?
A concentric malar lift or mid-face lift is a procedure that has an effect on the cheekbones but also on the lower eyelids and the dark hollows under the eyes.
Why should I get a cheek lift?
A cheek lift is a good option when, in front of a mirror, you improve your look while pulling the skin of your cheekbones upward.
Indeed, aging and loss of fat result in the sagging of the cheekbones that creates hollows and dark circles under the lower eyelid. The volume of the face must be restored to establish a younger appearance.
What’s the purpose of a cheek lift?
The aim of a cheek lift is to lift the cheekbones, to put them back to their initial place, to establish a refreshed and rejuvenated look with a firm face contour.
A cheek lift doesn’t alter the facial features but puts back the different anatomical structures of the face into a more youthful position.
The outcome is balanced and natural.
BEFORE CHEEK LIFT SURGERY:
CHEEK LIFT SURGERY:
The final outcome is visible after 3 to 6 months. The physical enhancement due to the cheek lift often leads to a psychological well- being. Over time it may be necessary to maintain the result with esthetic medicine (peelings, Botox injections, Hyaluronic acid injections, lasers…)
AFTER A CHEEK LIFT:
What other procedures may be combined with a cheek lift?
Patients often combine a cheek lift with a face and neck lift to treat the sagging of other parts of the face and neck.
It may also be combined with a face lipofilling that gives back volume to the face and improves the quality of the skin.
A cheek lift may also be associated with esthetic medicine procedures (dermabrasion, laser, peelings, Botulinum toxin injections, Hyaluronic acid injections or other filler injections).
Where are the scars after a cheek lift?
The scar is hidden along the lower eyelid, below the eyelashes and into the crow’s feet wrinkles if necessary.
What are the alternatives to a cheek lift?
The main alternative is a face lipofilling, a non-invasive and natural procedure.
For a patient opposed to any surgery procedure, even to a lipofilling, derma fillers (such as Hyaluronic acid) may be an option.
Does skin sag again over time?
Yes, due to aging, skin naturally loses firmness and loosens but the results may be maintained with esthetic medicine.
